NOW from about 15 days she is feeling very much pain in her right breast, and the baby also some time refusing this right breast when get feeding, becuse of that always a liquid (not milky white) is comming out through right nipple. Today She consulted with a gyno doctor, who prescribed tablet ENZOMAC PLUS and capsule tablet CHERRI. Also Johnson's Plaster to apply on the painfull area of the breast.

Brief Answer:
PRESCRIBED MEDICINES CAN BE TAKEN.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

Right sided breast pain during breastfeeding may be due to engorged breast or blocking of milk duct by bacterial infection, associated with cracked nipple.

As she visits her gynecologist, I think that her breast is properly examined and she can continue above prescribed medication. However, I add one medicine in adjunct of above treatment - Evening Primrose Capsule (PRMOSA) 1000 mg daily for next 30 days.

In addition, following breast care should be taken during breast feeding:

a) Frequent emptying of breasts should be done in proper technique. Herein, continuous breast feeding is very much essential for mother and it prevents engorged breast or blocked gland.

b) Drink more water or fluids to stay hydrated and take healthy diet with consuming more vegetables and fruits in that time period.

c) In case of breast engorgement, breast massage and hot compression before each feeding can help in unblocking the ducts and get relief some. In severe cases, cold compression is preferable. Milk expression can be practiced in some cases by hands or pump.

d) Take care about sore or cracked nipple that has significant role in bacterial infection. Proper cleaning is mandatory before & after each breast feeding. Use only plain water for cleaning and not to be used soap/ lotion/cream over nipple as they may cause drying & cracking nipples.

e) She will wear only loose fitted nursing bras and avoid wearing bras with under wiring as this can cause blocked ducts and mastitis.

Hope, I have answered your query. If you don't have any other query, you can close the discussion.

Wish her good health and take care yourself.

Because some times she tried to doem load milk manualy by squeezing and found that the milk (not actually milky white) which kept in a bowl becoming two part in different two colors (light milky & watery).

Brief Answer:
BREAST ABSCESS SHOULD BE RULED OUT.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for additional information.

In my point of view, breast abscess or mastitis should be ruled out following proper breast examination. She may require one course of antibiotic and Paracetamol tab to reduce fever and improve the condition.

Kindly, consult with your doctor regarding this and take complete prescription. Until then, she MUST follow earlier advices.

Hope, it helps for you. Kindly, close the discussion.

All the best and good luck.

Regards,
Dr Soumen
