I have been taking tylenol for the jaw pain. that takes care of the jaw pain but then messes up my stomach. SOmetimes when I eat I cant swallow and my eyes water and I choke.
tooth infection, gag training, topical spray
Detailed Answer:
thanks for your query, i have gone through your query. the pain in the jaw could be because of the infection in the tooth or the gum. consult your oral physician and get your oral cavity completely examined to rule out the tooth infection. if there is tooth or gum infection it can be treated with cleaning or restoration of the teeth. you can take tylenol that is the safest drug but if it is causing stomach irritation you can take an antacid before food.
regarding gag reflex, you are suffering from hyperactive gag reflex, that is increased sensitivity of the pharyngeal nerves which is making you not able to swallow the food properly and tend to throw up much of it and not able to brush.
this can be treated by distracting yourself and breathing deep to avoid the gag reflex to take over as soon as you feel its onset. gag training of the throat is a good way to desensitize the pharyngeal area to a certain extent (take deep breath and count from 1 to 10 in your mind to distract yourself when you get gag reflex). An anti-gag reflex spray (or a numbing throat spray) may be used to numb that area so that you wont feel any sensation over that area like use of topical anesthetic like lignocaine gel or sprays.
for the indigestion you have to consult a gastroeneterologist.
i hope my answer will help you. take care. if any queries regarding my answer reply me back.
