Brief Answer:
common reason is thin vaginal cover due to low hormones.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to HCM,
I am Dr Madhuri a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist and will be helping you with your queries.
A bit of blood after intercourse is most commonly due to a condition called atrophic vaginits or senile vaginitis that is very common at this age. In this the vaginal lining becomes thin. It occurs due to low hormone levels and responds very well to estrogen creams.

Other reasons may be trauma due to friction. Very rare causes may be a vault cancer or a polyp. So just get her examined by a gynecologist and a per speculum examination as well as a pap smear from vault and a culture swab will help establish a diagnosis and then proper treatment can be instituted.

Also it would be extremely helpful to know when the hysterectomy was done and what was the reason for the procedure?

So do not worry. Just get an evaluation.

Hope this satisfies your query.
