Question: Hello Doctor,
I had pain in gorin area from few days and i wantes to see if something is wrong in that area so becuase of that i did shave the area yesterday and applied dettol to whole are becuase of some cut due to trimmer. Now skin looks reddish and pic attached. I am not sure this reddish part was from before or it happebed now. Please have a look at pic and let me know if it is due to dettol ir something else ? Apart from this i have a question that this pain around groin i have from 2 weeks and feeling is same as when we get some hit on that area and sometimes it is more and sometime it is less. I am worried if it is something to do with HIV. I never had any kind of sex but some 6 months back some unknow girl kissed me in party(it was long smooch). any relation between these symptoms and HIV ?

Brief Answer:
Take treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I understand your concern regarding your skin problem and I hope I am able to help you in the same.
I have seen the attached pictures.
You seem to have developed allergic dermatitis due to application of dettol.
Do not apply dettol or any other antiseptics to the area
Apply a topical steroid antifungal combination cream over the affected area twice daily like candid b cream.
Take some oral antihistamines like levocetrizine once daily at night.
Wear cotton undergarments.
Continue the above treatment regularly for one week.
Since your contact with a girl was six months ago, if you are very concerned, get a hiv testing done.

I am sure this will help you.

Brief Answer:
Take oral both inflammatory agents, see response

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

Pain in groin can be due to multiple reasons. However the most important cause is the painful swelling of inguinal lymph nodes.
You can start intake of oral both inflammatory agent like ibuprofen or paracetamol twice daily for three to five days. In case the pain still persists, see a nearby doctor and get the area examined.
A hiv elisa test is surely much more reliable..so you can get it done

Hello Doctor, Thank you for the response. as i mentioned i applied dettol i have also applied it to face after shave and same kind of skin colour got changed and today it got peeled off and new skin has grown below. even on testicles the skin is getting peeled off. So i think reason was dettol. if dont take any medicine is it ok as new skin has grown already and one layer is getting peeled off ? or i have to consult dermatologist ?

Brief Answer:
Apply moisturisers..will help

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Yes you are right. The skin will slowly peel off god will be replaced by new skin
You can apply the medicine as too earlier in case there is too much discomfort. Otherwise you can simply apply a topical moisturising lotion two to three times daily. It will assist in rapid healing

Avoid urea based moisturiser

Avoid applying a urea based moisturising lotion.
Something like vaseline would have suited you more.
