What Causes Hepatitis C Infection?

Question: hello sir, here i heard from many people they have hepatitis c, they have already did treatment but it still come positive, sir could you tell me that once hepatitis get positive is it possible to be negative? in blood result

Brief Answer: there are different tests available Detailed Answer: HI, thanks for using healthcare magic Hepatitis c is a type of virus that affects the liver. In response to this infection, the body produces antibodies specific for fighting off this virus, these antibodies can also demonstrate whether a person has a history of infection because some remain even when the acute infection has resolved. The course of hepatitis c can vary from one person to the next. (1)IN some persons, after the acute infection has occurred , the infection can resolve completely. Even though the infection is gone, some types of antibodies will remain as evidence that at some point in this person's life they were infected with hepatitis c. (2) IN other persons after the acute infection has occurred- the virus itself would persist, these persons develop chronic (persistent) infections with hepatitis c.This actually occurs in the majority of persons (70- 80%) with hepatitis c. There are different tests for hepatitis C. Tests can check for antibodies or for the virus itself. IF the infection is gone, then the tests for the virus itself would be negative but the tests for antibodies would continue to the positive (they just indicate there was infection at some point).
