Brief Answer:
IBS, chronic relapsing but can be managed

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Irritable bowel syndrome is a chronic relapsing disorder which involves flare episodes and recurrences of variable severity. The symptoms can be managed but there is rarely a complete cure. Having said that it does not affect survival or predispose to inflammatory bowel disease or colon cancer. The description you provided suggests that there is an anxiety/stress component to the IBS. Tricyclic antidepressants have shown to help in such cases. Firstly, cardiac and neurological causes should be ruled out, though. .

Based on the clinical outcomes that I have experienced , I would recommend Tab Eucarbon along with Sucralfate 1 g BD . Eucarbon is a mild laxative with detoxifying properties.
Eucarbon contains the following
Vegetable charcoal
Folium Sennae
Rhurab root
Essential mint oils and fennel oils

Mebeverine and/or hyoscine can be advised if spasmodic pain episodes occur frequently. High fiber diet, stress reduction especially with psychotherapy, hypnosis and psychiatric consultations can help. Avoiding caffeinated beverages and alcohol would also be recommended. You may discuss these options with your doctor.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
