Brief Answer:
Very rarely patient becomes carrier after treatmnt

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query at HCM.

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus known as MRSA is a bacterium which can cause infection in different parts of the body. MRSA infections usually occurs in people who have weak immune systems. The symptoms of MRSA depend on where you're infected. It usually causes mild infections on the skin, like sores, boils or furunculitis. But yes it can cause serious skin infections or infect surgical wounds, the bloodstream, the lungs, or the urinary tract. The patient is then advised antibiotics based on antibiotics sensitivity testing. Patients are usually given agents like vancomycin, teicoplanin or linezolid. The patients get cured after proper treatment and do not become Carrier. Very rarely they can become MRSA carrier. Such patients need to get nasal swab tested for this bacteria and apply mupirocin 2% ointment applied twice daily for 7 days to treat.
