What Causes A Boil On The Shoulder?

Question: My brother is having a boil on back of his right shoulder. It started 4 days ago. We then applied soframycin and wrapped ir with soft cotton and tape. He also consulted a doctor and taking Brufen 400mg, Supradyn, Augmentin 625mg and Rantac 150mg. Pain is less not but not sure if its curing or not. Look wise its worse then before. Attaching picture. Please suggest

Looks like a boil, can go for pus culture

I have reviewed the attached photograph.
It is looking like a boil only.
The medicines prescribed are fine and the antibiotic needs to be continued for atleast 5 days to see any significant results.
If you feel that it is becoming worse in appearance go for pus culture of the boil to find out the exact organism causing the infection and the antibiotics that will be effective in treating it.
