What Causes A Bump At The Back Of The Head After A Fall?

Question: I fell this morning and hit the back of my head. It made a bump almost right away. But it seems like the center is soft and kinda dented. Is this something I should worry about? I feel normal except the bump hurts

The bump you have noticed is quite common thing. It appears due to tissues swelling and some blood presence under the skin.
As long as there is no nausea, dizziness, weakness, blurred vision most likely the injury is only superficial. All you need to do is to rest and be aware of mentioned symptoms. If any of them appears, head CT should be done.
The bump should go away in few days.

is it normal to have a headache also? and the soft spongy part is normal?
