What Causes A Bump By His Buttocks Cheek?

default
Posted on Thu, 2 Apr 2015
Question: Hi, my husband found a bump by his butt cheek and his I guess you can say anal canal (same bump) but it is not inside the canal. The bump is a little bit round, and at times hard but it is not causing him any pain when he is going to the bathroom. There is no blood in the stool and his stool has been normal. He saw this bump last week.

Brief Answer:
There is nothing to worry about!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this bump and all the inconveniences this has caused you both. The most common cause is folliculitis which signifies inflammation of a hair follicle. There os nothing to be too concerned about at this time. All is take is for the doctor to examine and confirm the benign nature of this. There is no rush in getting to the hospital and this would in no way compromise his good health as you have described. You both should be relaxed and calm about this.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
