What Causes A Coating On Tongue And Swelling And Pain On Tongue?
possible pernicious /megaloblastic anemia
Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic!
I understand your concern.Based on your symptoms I could think of pernicious anemia or megaloblastic anemia.
In this the patient might have bright red tongue with little soreness and slight tingling sensation. If I were your doctor I would have asked for you to go through proper blood workup and get diagnosed for the same.Taking Vit B12 capsules might help.
Secondly I would say since you are on acid blockers, there is less acid in your body leading to decrease in your absorption of necessary vitamin. On either case,I would suggest you to see a doctor and go through a complete blood count.
Hope this helps.Feel free to ask more.

Possibility of Glossitis...
Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam,
Thank you for writing back!
Vitamin and mineral deficiencies do not show up on complete blood culture. But as your hemoglobin is normal as per your report, the other possibility I could think of is Glossitis. Many things can irritate the surface of your tongue. This includes:
Tobacco products
Tooth paste
Mouth wash
Spicy foods
Please avoid any kind of irritants and take vitamin B12 supplements. If all this do not help, then please see an ENT doctor and get evaluated for the same.
Hope this helps. If you have no further clarifications, please rate this answer and close this discussion.
