What Causes A Cyst Like Bump On The Back Of The Throat?
Question: I have had pain in the top/back of throat for the past few hours and i have had this sand before. There is like a canker sore looking thing in the back left area, looks like its sticking out slightly, (attached) what is this? Do I have to worry? Last time i had this i gargled salt water and it went away after 2 days.
Brief Answer:
Hello. This looks like both pharyngitis and a mucocele
Detailed Answer:
Hello. It looks like you have both a throat infection and a mucocele. Mucoceles are small salivary gland cyst and they usually disappear in a few days. If the soreness continues beyond five days have a doctor take a look since at that point this could be a strep infaction.
