What Causes A Dark Itchy Rash On The Ankle?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: I worked out in my garden and flower beds last Friday and Saturday. On Sunday I noticed a dark rash on the inside of my ankles that mildly itched (barely noticeable). Over the next four days the rash spread around my ankle and faded to a light pink color. Over those four days I took benedryl and use a benderayl lotion on the area which release any itching altogher. This morning, I noticed the rash on the inside of my thighs but no where else except the original location, my ankles. The rash on my inner thighs is not noticeable at all by feel (itch) only appearance.

Please upload an image.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. I would strongly insist you to upload an image of the affected areas. The rashes could be allergic, fungal, or viral. Please continue benadryl for a few days. Apply some moisturizing lotion like aloe vera lotion. Hopefully it should resolve in 3-4 days.
Regards

The rash around the ankles as faded quite a bit since I last reported. I uploaded two pictures of my right leg and ankle which pretty much mirrors my left leg.

Requires medical attention.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. I have checked the attachments. The rashes are likely to be due to erythema multiforme. I would insist you not to ignore it and to get medical attention at the earliest. It may call for hospitalization as well.
