What Causes Itching On The Forearm, Elbows And Legs?
we went to our family doctor (he is a general physician). he told nothing to worry & gave B-CG cream (image is attached). please advice on this.
what are these pimples & whats the reason to get this?
do we continue applying the same cream or u advice anything different? pls explain in detail
Perhaps it is erythema multiforme minor
Detailed Answer:
hello. thank you for writing to us.
I am Dr. Kakkar(dermatologist). I have gone through your query and i have viewed the image.
Most of the lesions I see have a target like presentation i.e have either a central fluid filled vesicle or a central crust along with redness and edema surrounding the central vesicle/ crust.
This type of presentation seems typical of Erythema Multiforme Minor (EM Minor) where there are typical "target- like"lesions on extremities and face.
EM Minor is a hypersensitivity reaction to either infections( common viral infections, herpes simplex/ cold sores) Or due to drugs/ medications.
Does the child has fever?sore throat?
Was the child already on some medication when this happened?
Are there any lesions on lips or inside the mouth?
Can you upload a few more bright, clear images of the skin involvement on legs?
Regards
* we were giving Meftal P suspension & an antibiotic for 3 days.
* these lesions are only on both elbows, back of the forearms, slightly on the upper tip of one ear.
however we have been applying B-CG cream from 2 days. it looks like these pimple kind of things are getting dried. i will upload new images by tomorrow or so, so that you can see if these are getting reduced.
we are applying this cream twice a day (in the morning & night). is that sufficient or how to apply the cream?
by the way, once this is cured, wil this leave black marks on the skin?
Ointment for application
Detailed Answer:
hi
You may apply flutibact ointment, twice daily. They would not leave any permanent marks.
