What Causes A Dull Ache In The Testicles And Pain During Urination?

default
Posted on Wed, 26 Apr 2017
Question: On and off for 10 months, I seem to have more awareness of the need to urinate. Some male type pain in gentitals- and sometimes a dull ache in testicles. All urine and STD tests negative. Diagnosed at urgent care with hydrocele and varicocele. Some dribbling after urination occurs. I don't wake at night to urinate- ever. Wondering what is happening as I haven't been able to see urologist yet.

Brief Answer:
Likely to be due to infection of Prostate (Prostatitis)

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have urge to pass urine and pain in testicles and urethra off and on since 10 months

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Do you have pain in perineal region ?
2) Do you have painful ejaculation ?
3) What is the grade of Varicocele ?
4) Whether hydrocele is minimal or large one ?

Consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
3) Serum PSA.

In the meanwhile take antibiotic like Bactrim D.S along with anti inflammatory medication like diclofenac or Brufen twice daily .

Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

No pain in that region. Rarely - if ever pain with ejaculation. The report didn't specify the grades on varicocele and hydrocele.

Can it be an infection if all the urine cultures have come back negative?

Also I've read that prostatits is very hard to treat if no bacteria is found in the urine. What are your thoughts on this?

Are there natuaral ways to get relief?
And can a hydrocele cause more urges to urinate?

The scan report said I had bilateral hydrocele.

Here is the report

TESTICULAR ULTRASOUND

History: Pain

Comparison: None

Technique: Real-time sonographic and color Doppler images of the testicles were obtained. Spectral waveform analysis was performed.

Findings:
The right testicle measures 4.3 x 3.3 x 2.7 cm. The right testicle has a homogeneous echotexture without mass or microcalcifications.

The left testicle measures 4.5 x 2.7 x 2.2 cm. The left testicle has a homogeneous echotexture without mass or microcalcifications.

There is normal arterial inflow within the testicles bilaterally.

The epididymides appear unremarkable bilaterally without abnormal vascular flow.

Left varicoceles.

There are small bilateral hydroceles.

Impression:

Left-sided varicocele.

Small bilateral hydroceles.
