What Causes A False Positive Result For Amphetamines While On Antibiotics?

Question: My son in law had a urine test for drugs and it came back positive for methamphedimines and amphedimines. He was on Sumatripan, Imitrex, and Methocarbamol at the time. We need to know if prescribed medications could have caused a false positive. He is 48 years old, 220 lbs and 6 ft tall. He has suffered with migraine headaches and muscle pain. Any ideas?

I understand all the inconveniences associated to a possible positive drug test. I have reviewed his drug list and Imitrex is susceptible lot causing false positive testing on amphetamines. I will suggest that you bring this to the attention of his doctor so that he cannot and should not be punished for this positive result which is most likely false.
