What Causes A Feeling Of Lump Inside The Throat?

Question: lump feeling in throat no other systems, after 3weeks went to ENT 1st dr later fired did scope told me had ACID REFLUX and drainage , gave me meds after 1 week FROM BEING FINE BUT THE LUMP FEELING i started getting acid reflux SO I stopped AKING IT WENT NATURAL MEDS & went back to ENT main DR scope said no acid reflux no drainage, and gave me antibiotics, WHEN DONE w/meds still lump feeling, went back TO ENT PA saw me said the drainage is not going in throat but is located in my naisal passages and sent me to pharmacist for a $249 steroid, spoke to pharmacist who told me to get a 2nd opinion. i now have little of that acid feeling still once in a while but the lump feeling still there and burping - MOVING - WORKING OUT makes me feel better? BUT LUMP FEELING STILL THERE?

I am Dr.Muhammad Ahmad. I have read your question completely, i understand your concern and will try to help you in best way possible.

You seem to be having stomach issues and GERD, burping and compression sensations are common is stomach issues .. stomach acid can cause throat irritation which may cause phlegm and gripping / tightness.

Here are a few suggestions that can help you get relief off your symptoms.

1) Avoid Fizzy drinks, coffee , caffeine, tea.
2) Avoid pain killers.
3) Take syrup gaviscon one table spoon theice a day..
4) Eat high fibre diet.
5) I would also suggest similar patient in my clinic to take omeprazole 40mg a day and a prokinetic like motillium.
6) These can relieve you well

This can be controlled very easily by simple life style changes and medication so don't panic hopefully my suggestions will help you
