What Causes A Large Discolored Patch With White Heads On The Neck?

Question: Hi my son brought home poison oak in which I got in a few places on my body but now that seems to be healing up but it did spread to my neck ears and small little splotches on my face . At first I thought it was a few pimples until I realized it wasn't but now I have a few really Big patches with white heads like behind my ear on my neck . My question really is does poison oak get white heads on the tips sometimes? And can it be a single one that looks we like a pimple but I'm pretty sure it is not , if it is pimples I'm 40 yrs old and Never had any like that! Also my neck itches like crazy to.

Hi welcome to health care magic,

This does sound like a severe allergy and not pimples. Any severe allergy can present with different colour patches and there can be white spots too. I am sure poison ivy can do that too. And since it itches badly it confirms that it is an allergy.

Please try taking fexofenadine 120 any time during the day time and Benadryl 50 at night. You can apply any steroid cream with antibiotic in it. If not improving in 2 days, see your doctor for a course of steroids.
