What Causes A Lump In The Roof Of The Mouth?

default
Posted on Fri, 3 Nov 2017
Question: I have two mouth queries. I'm wondering if you could help shed some light on what these lumps might be, i had a hardish spot on the roof of my mouth just behind and to the side of my wisdom tooth and i pushed on it and it popped. Blood and salty fluid came out, more blood than fluid but still not a massive amount.

It looks a lot like a pimple, it doesnt appear like a mucocle. I have attached a picture of it 12 hours + after i popped it.

On the other side of my mouth i have a squishy movable lump that i can feel with my teeth. It isn't sore, but its rough to touch and shaped like the outline of my teeth. I have attached a picture of it, as best as i could take.

I quit smoking, but i vape on e-cigs. Not the liquid pipe type, the cartridge cigarete type.
Im 29 and overweight.

Brief Answer:
Detailed below .Nothing to be worried. Follow these measures.

Detailed Answer:
Hello xxxxxxxxx.
Thanks for consulting Healthcaremagic.
This is Dr. Priyanka tiwari answering your query.

I have read your query and gone through the pictures you have attached. As far as i have observed in image you have inflamed oral mucosa (roof of the mouth) and swelling (lump) in respect to wisdom tooth. Inflamation and ulceration on palate can be due smoking and swelling can be due to angulated (impacted) wisdom tooth.
There is nothing to be worried so much. I will suggest you few measures :
-Maintain good oral hygiene.
- Do warm saline rinses 2 to 3 times a day.
- Take Cap.Vitamin BComplex with folic acid twice daily by consulting with local doctor.
-Apply ointment containing Triamcinolone acetonide paste and chlorhexidine gluconate gel twice daily on inflamed mucosa.
- If not please Quit smoking habit.

Hope this will help you.
If you have further query i will be happy help.
