What Causes A Lump On Neck?
Barely visible, check if it moves with swallowing. Thyroid or lymph node.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. I can barely make out a swelling on the right lower center of the neck in the image.
2. Check if the lump moves up and down with swallowing. If it does, it is likely to be the thyroid gland.
3. A Neck Ultrasound (USG) is the quickest and best way to settle this diagnosis, especially if the lump is not moving with swallowing.
4, There are a number of swellings that can present there, like lymph nodes and other important structures, the discussion about which is beyond the scope of the current answer.
5. Upload the Neck USG and palpation (movement) findings for further treatment options.
I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
Get this examined in a day or two.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for writing back.
1. As long as the lump is not growing and as long as there are no fresh symptoms, you can get it examined within a couple of days.
2. Neck swellings should be examined as soon as possible. I would urge you not to wait as you are also in the second trimester of pregnancy.
I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
