Posted on Fri, 17 Jul 2015
Question: Hi. I am 37 years old. On Monday afternoon I notice a small bump on my right labia majora, it was bothering me as it was paining. As I shaved myself the same morning, I thought it could be related. However on Tuesday night, the bump has become 4 times bigger making my labia majora swollen and even more painful. On Wednesday it has not increase but now a same type of small bump was on the left labia majora, it is also painful and both are hard to the touch and very painful with burning sensation when I walk or touch them. For your info I have also been have itchy vagina and whitish discharge. Grateful u can advise what it is and how to get rid of them.

Brief Answer:
Likely to be infection of bartholin gland

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Lump on the labia majora which is increasing in size and is painful is most likely to be a bartholin gland cyst or abscess. It can get infected when there is associated vaginal infection. It is very painful, and needs to be treated surgically by cyst drainage and everting the cyst wall.
It will be more helpful to make a definitive diagnosis if you can attach the photograph of the lesion, if possible.
Hope you found the answer helpful. Please do get back to me with the information, if feasible.

Brief Answer:
pain killer and antibiotic ointment

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, it can be rupture of the vulval carbuncle or bartholin gland abscess since pus has come out. You should take pain killer containing diclofenac and serratiopeptidase at least three times a day, and should apply some antibiotic ointment on it. Moreover, if feasible, contact your OBGYN specialist for proper examination and treatment.
