Question: Hi I have a numb pain on the left side of my head, it's behind my left ear. It's not a regular headache and only hurts when I touch it, any ideas what it is....
Brief Answer:
Possible Temporal Arteritis?Needs Confirmation.
Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam.
I understand your query and concern.
As per your history, you seem have headache resulting from vasculitis which is inflammation of the vessel wall.
This could possibly be temporal arteritis related headache in view of your age ,gender and clinical features.
For Confirmation I advise you to have the following.
1.ESR.
2.CRP.
3.Colour Duplex ultrasonography of temporal artery.
Treatment is largely based on test results.
Drugs like Methyl Prednisolone is the main stay of treatment.
Post your further queries,if any.
Thank you.
