What Causes A Painful Soft Milk Lump In Breast During Pregnancy?

Hormonal and physiological changes. Need breast care.
Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear,
Thanks for writing to us. Followings are my comments:
1) Soft milk lump in breast is quite common during pregnancy period (particularly after 14 weeks) and you may leak thick, creamy milk (colostrum). It means your breast is preparing for the birth of your baby.
It is a physiological process and mostly associated with hormonal changes (high prolactin level, estrogen and progesterone). It is quite normal thing.
2) If you DON'T want breast feeding, then you shouldn't express out breast milk, which will be more painful. Rather, you need to take proper care of breast.
3) Wear right size bra, DON'T wear any tight fitting or under-wired bra as they may interfere with milk gland and block milk duct, do light massage around nipple with coconut or almond oil to avoid crack, tingling sensation & roughness, change bra timely if nipple area becomes wet to avoid infection, pull out inverted nipple if you see it. Maintain overall breast hygiene.
Hope, it helps to solve your problem. Wish your good health and take care.
