What Causes A Painless Hard Lump At Penis Base?
Question: Hello I have a lump at the base of my penis. It appears to be semi hard and I think it may be an hair bump but it's gotten sensitive to the touch so after investigating online I proceeded to try to prick it and there is some fluid coming out but not much at a time. I was wondering is there anything else I can try before getting medical attention. Thank you
Brief Answer:
It is Folliculitis. It will heal in a weeks time.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
It sounds like a boil or what we call as Folliculitis. The fact that you have burst it. It should settle down. Please always keep it clean since as it is now open it can get infected secondarily. Therefore, you could start a course of antibiotics like Tab Ceftum 500mg twice a day for 5 days. Wash the area with soap and water and apply Mupirocin ointment over the open crater of the pustule.
It would be good to show it to your Doctor or GP who can examine you and advice accordingly.
Do not worry about it. It would heal in maximum 7 to 10 days.
Take care and let me know if there are any queries.
