What Causes A Pea Sized Lump Below The Knee?
Question: Hi, I have a pea sized lump in my muscle just below the knee. The lump ia under the skin. I have noticed it since two weeks, it pains only when pressed and not visible to naked eye. There is no apparent colour change on the skin over the lump.

I am 25 years male and haven't visited a doctor yet. I discovered it 10 days ago. I am not on any medications. Also, as far as injuries are concerned, I had suffered an impact on the shin on the same leg 2 years back that resulted in a swelling but no fracture or crack.
The lump is infront of the knee joint and isn't prominent on tightening too. Can't post photographs as I have intermittent weak connectivity. Kindly advise

The injury in past does not seem to be connected to the present lump.
The lump as you have described may be due to one of the following reasons:
Sebaceous cyst: this shows a dimple on the skin if tried to move from side to side and moves a little.
Lipoma which got noticed now. This is is usually freely XXXXXXX and usually not painful.
Both of these are benign and hence not to be worried about.
In the first question you have said this to be in muscle just below knee.
In the follow up you have mentioned this to be in front of knee joint and hence another possibility of a lump from synovial membrane or bursa can be considered. This is usually soft and boggy, not painful or tender and not movable.
