Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband is 50 yrs. Since past 4 yrs he is suffering from terrible knee pain. Initially it was the problem of left leg but now he has developed problem in the right leg also. When consulted it was found that he has developed knee osteoarthiritis. I want to know the method to increase the synovial fluid in the joints.
Osteoarthritis is usually age related and most important thing is with increasing age the bones and joints become weak and with that if a person has weight issues then this keeps on increasing. So regular exercise and maintaining healthy weight are very important along with pain medication.
There are injections that are given in knee joint increase the lubricaiton and helps in easy mobility which depends on patients overall condition. If the doctor's have found out that the issue is associated with synovial fluid levels then they will suggest options like intra-articular injections. So consult your doctor about it.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
