What Causes A Pink Patch Of Skin Near The Tip Of Penis?

default
Posted on Thu, 4 Jun 2015
Question: I've had a pink patch of skin near the tip of my penis for about the past two weeks. It doesn't itch or burn, and there has been no discharge. I can't tell if it's just irritation or being caused by an STI.

Brief Answer:
Seborrheic dermatitis; Use a moderately potent steroid

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I have gone through your query and I have also reviewed the Image.

After looking at the image this does'nt look like an STI. Its just an ill-defined,red patch and probably it is from seborrheic dermatitis.

Common STI usually present with either genital ulcers/ erosions, urethral discharge, warts/ growths on genital skin/ mucosa.

I suggest you to use a moderately potent topical steroid e.g fluticasone propionate 0.05% Or triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% cream, twice daily for a few days.

Clean the area with just plain water. Avoid soaps.
