default
Posted on Tue, 25 Oct 2016
Question: I have one areola that has dry flaky skin just started..... Not really itching I've just been running it feeling it and freaking out so making it red! I feel like it's also red and different color than other breast. I'm sure because I'm irritating it? Can this be cause for concern. I feel no lumps .... I'm 45 and have never had a mammagram with no history in family. Please help???

Brief Answer:
Eczematous dermatitis, cortisone cream & moisturising lotion

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I am Dr Asmeet Kaur Sawhney, a dermatologist.

I have gone through your complaints and it seems you have developed an eczematous rash. Please upload a photo of the rash so that I am better able to help you.

If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to apply cortisone cream on the affected area twice daily along with frequent and liberal application of moisturising lotion on the entire breast for 10-12 days.
This should resolve it.

I don't think it is anything serious and of serious concern.
Regards
Dr Asmeet
