What Causes A Reddish Brown Colour Mole?
Question: Hi,
Could you please take a look at this mole. I had it for ages and it hasn't changed, but it always bothers me has it's more of a reddish color than brown (I have a couple of them). I have a dermatologist for skin checks and she says it is fine. I was just wondering for the tiny dots are in the mole? I think she may have said hair follicles or pores or something. I was just concerned if it was a mole with two colors as in the ABCDE signs. Sorry I get a bit paranoid about my skin. See photos with and without flash.

Thank you very muchfor your response. What are the little darker dots in the mole ,I think I can see 3 do you see them? Do the dots in the mole mean that its a dyplastic nevus?
Brief Answer:
A benign junctional nevus
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Yes, I can see the tiny dots that you are concerned about. They are just more superficial (epdermal) tiny specks of pigment/melanin
Apart from irregular margins, asymmetry, vareigation in color, flat and bumpy components, size more than 5 mm, a dysplastic nevus in general would appear a lot different from the other more common melanocytic nevi that would be present in an individual i.e 'ugly duckling sign'. This is not a dysplastic nevus.
