What Causes A Sharp Stinging Pain In The Urethra?

Question: About 5 days ago I experienced a sharp stinging pain in my urethra when achieving an erection. I had intercourse with no issues and went to bed without urinating. The next morning I expelled about a half an eyedropper full of what seemed like blood clots at the beginning of my urination. Throughout the day it became less and less, but always at least 1 or 2 small bright red clots for a few days. My Dr really showed no concern other than to take a urinalysis for STDs which it is not. Today I haven't seen any blood but I do still feel slight discomfort in the urethra and almost a tingling sensation in general.
Brief Answer:
Acute urethritis
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
It seems that you have acute urethritis which has given rise to painful erection and subsequently bloody urethral discharge. You need to undergo routine urinalysis ,urine culture and sensitivity to exclude non-gonococcal urethritis ,in particular.
A suitable course of antibiotic (s) will relieve the symptoms,if not already started by your doctor.
