What Causes A Tender Spot On Penis Head During A Sexual Intercourse?
Question: Dear Doctor,
I have been taking Cipro for 10 days for prostatitis. About 7 days ago, during intercourse with my wife, I developed a tender spot on the rim of the head of my penis. There is nothing noticeably different visually, but it feels like a rugburn or fiberglass irritation. I have since used a little hydrocortisone with no help. Urination and ejaculation are fine. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks

Brief Answer:
infection needs to be ruled out
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank You for consulting HealthcareMagic!
I do not think that it is related to prostatitis. Hydrocortisone should have worked if it was due to allergy or some other inflammation or slight trauma. As this was not the case, infection needs to be ruled out. It is good to get a physical examination done with a skin and STD doctor, to exclude infection.
