Question: Hi Doc, I have got a problem which goes like this. After an hour of masturbation or so i feel kind of uncomfortable in my lower abdomen and lower back, it feels like there is a connected pain from my scrotum to lower back. Although the pain vanishes after 2 hours or so and i feel completely normal... but am worried why does this even happen... this has been happening from almost a year now... and it happens only and only when i masturbate... and also once i stopped masturbating for like 3 months on a stretch... and i never ever got any pain... so this is happening only when i masturbate... though its just a temporary pain which lasts for hardly 2 hours or so... am still worried... i wanna learn about my body... it would be great to listen from you...

Brief Answer: May be due to cremastric reflux Detailed Answer: HI Thanks for using healthcare magic. I, Dr Abhishek Kapoor, would help you in this query. I think, It is happening due to cremastric reflux. It involves the involuntary contraction of the cremaster muscle when the inner portion of the thigh is lightly stroked. This causes the scrotum and testicle to be pulled into an upward direction. While the reflex is often overactive in during masturbation. May be in your case, over-activity of this reflux lead to testicle to move upwards and that leads to pain which subsides after few hours. It usually happens in male with loose scrotum. May be, you have loose scrotum, due to which testicle pull up by cord and lead to twist. There is nothing to worry about it. Only for precaution, you can go for doppler test to check testicle viability to rule out any internal abnormality and consult a urologist. In case, you have further query, you can ask.
