What Causes Abdominal Bloating While Treating Vaginal Infection?
Question: Hi Doctor - I had a slight abdominal cramp on the left side ( almost near the ovaries) , i consulted a gyneac, she did an internal scan and ruled out any cysts etc. However she gave me a FAS 3 kit and Emanzen D and a vaginal tablet for getting rid of any pelvic infection. Following that I feel the cramp has gone off a bit, however i notice that my stool color and consistency has changed to a dark green. I feel some bloated feeling in my stomach too. Could it be the side effects of the medicines? Please note i have stopped the medicine as of Sunday but i still notice my stools are not back to the usual. I have no pain or discomfort while passing motions or urine and the movements are normal . Please advise - thanks, XXXXXXX
Brief Answer:
No diagnosis made
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
As per your description the Gynecologist had treated you for vaginal infection from multiple causes. The tablets that were given were a strong a course of antibiotic and pain plus anti inflammatory medication. However an exact diagnosis was not cut.
These antibiotic course has three high end spectrum which can cause bloating sensation and will directly kill some useful bacteria in the gut. So there is an imbalance in the bacterial flora in your gut. It take sometime for the bacteria to rejuvenate. I suggest you to take BIFILAC tablets one tablet a day for a week. This helps to replenish the lost bacteria and contribute to the balance.
Hope this helps.
