You should gradually increase intensity to avoid injuries and other painful situations like the one you're facing. Muscle pain after activities of unusual intensity commonly gets worse during the first 48 hours and starts getting better after the 3rd day or so. It might take a few more days for full recovery.
Please note that abdominal muscles may get injured too, so if you're having anything more than the usual pain of muscle overuse, then you should arrange for a clinical encounter with your doctor.
