What Causes Abdominal Pain Along With Acute Back Pain?
Question: I was speaking to one if your dr last nigh i have acute back pain after a fall, howerver today i am suffering a lot of abdomane pain too could this be related??
If you have taken analgesics, the medicines could have caused gastritis leading to abdominal pain. Hence the two may be related. Please reply with thanks.

The medication i'm taking is tylex, anxicalm and diclac, pain seems to be moving from back to abdoman and returning to back
Brief Answer:
analgesic induced gastritis
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.Tylex contains paracetamol and codeine and is intended to reduce pain. Diclac is diclofenac which is another pain killer. Together these have caused gastritis and hence you are suffering from abdominal pain. If you take these medicines, please be sure to take them in full stomach. And take them only if the back pain is severe. Take Mucaine gel 4-6 spoonfuls as required and it will soothe your abdominal pain. Apply hot compress to relieve your back pain. Take omeprazole one capsule in empty stomach in the morning for two weeks. I think you would get relief. If you still do not get relief, get your blood tested for lipase and amylase levels to rule out pancreatitis.
