What Is The Cause For Calcified Cyst On The Left Ovary?

I am 43, 4 kids, tubes tied at 19, and a c-section in 88. I was told 6 years ago peri menopause. More severe pain caused my dr to do a US that showed a calcified cyst on left ovary. How serious is this. Also, I have chronic calcified pancreatitis, dx at age 29. I am scared of cancer.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Most ovarian cysts present little or no discomfort and are harmless.
The majority disappears without treatment within a few months.
There is no evidence that they can develop cancer.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
