Question: My wife is 38 weeks pregnant and we don't know what's going on the hospital isn't helping, she has been non stop throwing up and she has diarrhea she spent the night on the bathroom floor. She is getting really sharp pains in her abdomen area to the point she is crying. She throws up everything she eats or drinks.. the hospital said it's useless to go in unless the baby isn't moving or she is having contractions.

Brief Answer:
Physical examination needed.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,
Thanks for writing to us.

The symptoms your wife is suffering from could be due to acute gastroenteritis. But the labor pains also associates with these symptoms rarely. she should be physically examined for any contractions and any cervical dilatation. If doctor concludes it is not labor pain after examining, she should be treated for the infection immediately as this is very crucial time of pregnancy.

any query do get back.
take care.
