What Causes Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding After Sexual Intercourse?
Question: Hello,
Every time I have sex, I bleed. It's not a huge amount but it's definitely there. It's not to do with 'rough' sex either. I had an sti test and all came back fine... so went today for a smear. The doctor said there was a lot of discharge and when she took the sample I bled. Doctor said discharge could be thrush but I don't feel like I have thrush? I also haven't noticed any abnormal discharge myself. I am on contraceptive pill... was marvelon but have changed to microgynon in hope that the bleeding during sex thing will stop. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Brief Answer:
Various causes
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Bleeding during and after intercourse can be due to vaginal infection, polyp, premalignant or malignant lesions of the cervix.
Vaginal swab examination and pap smear should be done to confirm the diagnosis and get the further treatment accordingly.
Such post intercourse bleeding is unlikely due to oral contraceptive pills.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
