What Causes Acid Reflux Along With Shortness Of Breath?
Question: HI
I have asymptomatic stenosis of one tricuspid valve that does not open fully. I bike, kayak, and xc ski regularily often getting my heart rate quite high and have no problems. I also have a whiplash injury that sometimes has pain in my back that wraps around a rib on my right side . I also have acid reflux problems sometimes. A few days ago I was biking - stopped for a bit and I felt a tightening pain across my chest about 2 inches 5 cm above my nipples - it went all across the front possibly some pain in arm pit. I had no shortness of breath - no other symptoms at all - the pain kind of pulled my shoulders fwd and lasted less than a minute. I continued biking afterwards no problem. Then the next day the same thing happened while I was just walking. Since then I have had some very hard bike rides up hills with no problems.
Do you think I need to worry it is my heart? thanks

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir,
After going through your medical details, I would like to tell you that your symptoms are not typically suggestive of a heart disease rather more or muscle cramp or spasm.
However, considering Your Age Group and Tricuspid Valve disease I Would Like To Suggest You to get one Echocardiography done for further evaluation.
As such there seems nothing to be worried of as of now.
I hope this information will be helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Kind regards
Dr Bhanu Partap
