What Causes Acute Abdominal Cramps, Bloating And Loose Stools In A Child?

Question: 2 .5 yr old daughter with Acute abdominal Cramps over past 2 days.Today is the 3rd day. Little bloating. No diarrhea, vomiting or fever as of now. Have passed loose stools 3 times the first day.Taking Rinifol Z and Carmicide. Still gets bouts of Cramps that last for 3 _ 4 hrs or till she goes to sleep. Loss of appetite too. Was ok for most of day and then from evening onwards she is in trouble. Any help, regular paedtrician is away.

Hi,

Thanks for your query.

The cramps could be due to undigested food matter or due to worms. For now continue Rinifol Z and also can give Cyclopam Syp 5 ml twice daily for cramps.

Once the loose stools stops, you can give her dewroming medication like Zental 400mg syp 10 ml at once. This may prevent future occurrences
