What Causes Acute Fever Accompanied By A Rash In An Infant?
Is this fever constant or intermittent?
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this rash and fever that your child has. With negative cultures and echocardiography, there is reason to suspect that this is probably a viral infection. What the exact infection is remains a question. However, I will like to obtain a few details before making any suggestions and proposals on how to work on this.
1.Kindly upload an image for me to review and see what the rash is suggestive of.
2. Is this fever constant or comes and goes?
3. Is this child able to eat and drink and play?
I hope to hear back from you and do promise to contribute as much as possible so as to address this daunting clinical presentation. Until next, I wish your child well.
Could you address points 1 and three?

Hi,
Could you kindly address points 1 and 3? Thanks and hope to comment more after that.
I will recommend supportive care only now!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this follow up. I understand how much you are dealing with at this time.
I will say, supportive care of good nutrition and fever management is all I recommend at this time. Fever should be managed with physical measures such as cold blankets, home air conditioning and light dressing. If this fails, the tylenol should be used. I will strongly discourage against the use of aspirin.
It is my thinking and believe that resolution would be spontaneous without the need for aggressive medical interventions. Keep me posted about this.
I hope this helps. I wish your child well and a speedy recovery. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
