Brief Answer:
Need to find the cause first.

Detailed Answer:
Good day,
Noted your question.
I presume that your wife has Type 2 Diabetes mellitus.
It is not uncommon to have altered SGOT and SGPT in diabetes. There are several reasons.
1) Fatty liver with XXXXXXX ( due to fat accumulation in liver).
2) Some medicines can cause elevated SGOT and SGPT.
3) Other liver disorders.

Please get a full liver function test ( LFT). Along with that, you may also get an ultrasound scan of liver, pancreas, gall bladder. It is also recommended to do Hepatitis C and Hepatitis B screening.

If she has fatty liver, the easiest way to reduce SGOT and SGPT is weight reduction and active exercise.
Controlling diabetes and high cholesterol levels also will help.

So, first we need to identify the cause of elevated SGOT and SGPT. That is very important so that correct remedy can be prescribed.

Binu

Brief Answer:
Weight loss and exercise

Detailed Answer:
Yes, you could wait a month. The SGOT and SGPT are just 2 times above normal.
We take it significant when it goes above 3 times above normal.

Mean while try to lose some weight and encourage exercise.
