What Causes Altered Sense Of Taste, Hearing Loss, Imbalance And Paresthesia?
Altered taste, Imbalance, parasthesia
Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome
I appreciate your concern
Altered sensations of taste can be due to a number of causes including oral infections, gum disease, a number of drugs including iron supplementation, or a systemic condition such as a cold. If the symptoms are of recent onset then they would improve once the cause is addressed.
For hearing and balance, both peripheral and central causes need to be looked for. Nystagmus should be noted at clinical exam if present. Imbalance or vertigo needs to be differentiated. Dizziness also needs to be clinically correlated. Blood pressure should be measured in sitting/lying and standing position to look for a postural drop. EKG and echo as part of cardiac workup can be suggested.
Parasthesia are common with both peripheral neuropathy and peripheral arterial disease and may present with a mixed pattern. Vascular insufficiency should be ruled out. Drugs like pregabalin , gabapentin and B 12 supplements can be advised accordingly.
Wishing you best of health
Thanks
