What Causes Amonia Type Belching?
Its been about one day now that i keep belching an amonia type or belch during the day. I ate some mixed roasted nuts last night. I've been travelling a lot lately for work and have had more coffee than usual especially when driving long diatance. I have had a history of acidity in the past, i was diagnosed wirg h-pilori in XXXXXXX this year but that was treated and I've since been examined and im ok. I also have a hiatice hernia which usually doesnt give me problema. I avoid acidic type foods as a rule whenever i can. I'm not sure if it's related so I would like more information because its like a strange type of belch.
Thank you.
Another gastroscopy should be considered.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Such amonia type belching can indicate Helicobacter Pylori infection recurrence. Peptic ulcer in general can give amonia like reflux. This is more possible especially that you have had some acidity and H.Pylori infection before.
Coffee is a great stimulant of stomach acid secretion. Connected with stress, irregular meals intake (like during long distance travel) is strong factor of peptic ulcer.
That is why I suggest you to consult your gastrologist at first. Gastroscopy should be repeated to see the stomach condition. Some antiacid medicines might be necessary.
In a meanwhile please avoid any coffee, chocolate, orange juices, fatty foods, spicy foods, fried foods and alcohol. If you do chew gum, smoke, eat fast or drink carbonated drinks, please also try to eliminate this components as well.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Thank you.

Try diet and anti acids first.
Detailed Answer:
Gastroscopy is not extremely necessary right now. If its not available for you, you may try some home treatment for few days and see if this will help.
Chewing gum causes increased air swallowing which in result can give belching. Like I have said before, coffee is a very strong factor of acid reflux or even peptic ulcer.
So yes, chewing gum and increased coffee intake could trigger it.
Do not take triple therapy for H.Pylori without proper diagnostics. As gastroscopy is not available for you, please try to have at least stool test for H.Pylori.
For now, you may continue anti acid medicines (once a day in the morning before any meal) for a week or so along with mentioned diet modification.
If it wont help, than you should have gastroscopy done somehow.
Hope this will help.
Regards.
