What Causes An Elevated RBC Count In Urine During Menstruation?

Question: Hi, I had a urinalysis done while on my period. Because of this, quite a lot of blood made its way into the sample. I got the results back and I obviously tested positive for hemoglobin, but my test also indicated that my red blood cell count was too high to count (range 0-4). Could this be due to the blood in my urine, or is a urine test not affected by menstruation-specifically rbc's. Thanks
Brief Answer:
Likely due to menstrual blood
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
The presence of blood and RBCs in the urine is due the menstrual blood most likely.
However, you should get a repeat urine examination after your periods are over to confirm the findings.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
