Brief Answer:
blighted ovum cannot be prevented
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for the information.I understand your concern.
Its good to know that you have no genetic abnormalities in both.
In my opinion as I said in your previous query this is a condition called blighted ovum.50% of miscarriages in first trimester are caused by blighted ovum.
Here the fertilized egg implants in uterus but fails to develop into embryo. So the empty gestational sac is seen.
And there is no chance to continue the pregnancy so we have to terminate it.
Usually at about 5-6 weeks of gestation age
the fetal pole is seen and the gestation sac size should be 18mm.
Mostly blighted ovum is due to chromosomal abnormality or abnormal cell division.
Body recognises this abnormality and stops
pregnancy.
Unfortunately we cannot prevent this blighted ovum but the thing is it occurs mostly once.
Termination of pregnancy can be done by :-
1)medical method- But here chances of heavy bleeding and incomplete abortion are more .
2)D&C-This ensures complete removal of tissue immediately. Also the products can be sent for genetic testing.
As you have history of frequent miscarriages I suggest you to go for genetic
testing and rule out thyroid abnormalities by doing thyroid profile.
Give a gap upto 3 months before planning next pregnancy.Take folic acid tablet once a
day starting one month before planning conceiving.
Dont worry it doesn't get repeated mostly and as you already have got kid there is every chance of getting viable pregnancy.
Consanguinity is marraige in between the relatives where the chances of chromosomal abnormalities are more.
Hope this satisfies your query.
Feel free to discuss furthur.

Brief Answer:
karyotyping can be done
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,I got your query.l understand your concern.
In my opinion a procedure called karyotyping is done for both wife and husband. Here all the chromosomes are seen to detect any abnormalities.
Thyroid profile to detect thyroid abnormalities.
Blood sugar to rule out any diabetes.
All the above investigations are done when there are 3 or more consecutive abortions.
So you might not need them immediately.
D&C products are sent for histopathological
examination to rule out the cause of miscarriage.
Chromosomal abnormalities are one of the causes of miscarriages. As you both dont have any detectable abnormalities the chances of them might be less.So dont worry about them. But to rule out them karyotyping might be suggested.
Each chromosomal abnormality might lead to specific diseases some of them might be curable.
Give a gap of 3 months before planning for next pregnancy. As I told previously take tablet.Folic acid once daily one month before planning the pregnancy.
Fertility implantation might be invitro fertilisation(IVF) where in fertilisation is made outside and embryo is implanted into uterus. But this might be the last resort.
As this is your second pregnancy there are many chances for you to get pregnancy naturally.
Dont worry.Avoid stress regarding this.Because stress might lead to hormonal imbalance and might delay the fertility.
Hope this satisfies your query.
