What Causes An Infant To Cry Before Urination?
Question: My 13 days old son cries before peeing. Why does it happen and What should I do?
Brief Answer:
Seems to be due to spasm of bladder muscles
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. Your child's bladder muscles seem to go into spasm when he tries to pass urine. It can just be a matter of time before it resolves on its own. However, it is advisable to get a urine microscopy and culture done to rule out urinary tract infection. If there is no urinary tract infection you may try giving him plenty of water to drink, as well as paracetamol when needed. Hot compress over the bladder may also provide relief.
Let me know if I could help further.

Sir We got it checked with a doctor. His diagnosis is that the penis opening is very small. What should we do?
Brief Answer:
No intervention suggested
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.
Such things are frequently encountered. Usually they normalize by 3-3.5 years of age. Surgical intervention is usually not considered prior to that unless there are specific indications.
