What Causes An Itchy Rash In The Genital Area While On Noxafil?

default
Posted on Mon, 19 Dec 2016
Question: I recently stopped taking Noxafil as I believed I was getting worse on this drug .. I don't feel any better and in fact seem to be going backwards .. rash in the genital area, feet itch tremendously and just so fatigued .. is this related to stopping the drug (with my physicians permission)? How long does it stay in my system? I have been off for two weeks now .. I am a 52 year old male that had a full body mold infection .. all seem to have cleared on a different mold medication but my sinus area and this is when I started this drug.

Need to boost your immunity

Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.

I am MD Pharmacology and I will try to answer your query as best as I can.

Can you confirm which type of mold infection you had?

In my opinion, one should not aim to eradicate all fungi from body because fungi are part of normal flora and will never get eradicated "completely".

Yes after stopping any antifungal, there is somewhat increase of infection. It mostly happens because the source of infection has not been eradicated. In your case I recommend that you try to look for cause of mold infection. Mostly, the source is drinking water. Please try cleaner drinking water from reverse osmosis technique. I am sure this precaution will help you achieve better health and will allow you to stay off antifungals.

Posaconazole has a half life of 35 hrs. Thus 99% of it gets eliminated in 175 hrs i.e 7 days. You have been off this medicine for 2 weeks, so it has mostly flushed out of your system.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

I am unsure of the names but there were 5 different types of mold inside my body and in my organs one being the deadly black mold. I had my home and business professionally cleaned of mold. I own and run a gas station and it was there that I was exposed to the black mold. I have been being treated for over a year with the anti-fungals and it appears all are gone except one and that is why she changed me to the Noxafil. I tolerated the other quite well and was almost feeling my old self but went backwards with the Noxafil. How do I boost my immunity?

Brief Answer:
Boost immunity by stress free, healthy lifestyle

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

Yes, boosting immunity goes a long way in managing these infections. The only way to boost immunity naturally. Though supplements are available, those are not proven to work.

Some measures include:
Healthy, nutritious diet consisting of fruits and home made food.
Stress-free life by doing regular exercise, breathing techniques, muscle relaxation (yog nidra in yoga), adequate sleep.
Some ayurvedic preparations like XXXXXXX drops or chyawanprash are widely used in XXXXXXX for this purpose.
Cleaner water would help you by reducing germ intake, while immunity fighting germs already present inside body.

The black fungus in sinuses seems to be either stachybotrys or aspergillus. I have seen people resort to surgical cleaning of the area, but it should be very last step and should be done to save life.
