What Causes An Itchy Red Rash On The Cheeks Spreading To Other Parts?

Question: Hi can you give mecan opinion on this please, this rash started onnthe cheeks, and now has spread the arms back and buttox. Its itchy and leaves a smal red dot when scratched. Iv attached some pics, it origanly started last sunday morning. Thanks

Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I am dr.kakkar(dermatologist). I have gone through your query and i have noted your concern. I have reviewed the images.
The rash looks like it could either be a viral exanthem or a heat rash or a drug reaction.
I suggest you to take a tablet of cetrizine 10mg once daily for symptomatic relief from itching.
Topically you may use a soothing lotion e.g calamine lotion, twice or thrice daily.

Only multivitamins have been taken. No other drugs. In some places like the cheeks the redness calms down but leaves pimple like bumba under he skin. Thanks

Fine.

Drug reaction is just a possibility. Multivitamins can also cause drug reaction. You may stop them for a few days.
Other possibilities are viral exanthema Or heat rash.
Just use a soothing lotion e.g calamine lotion for a few days. Also take a tablet of oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10 mg once daily. I guess that should be enough.
