Question: I've had an itchy,sore anus for about a week now. It's been red and irritated. Then today I noticed a white ring around outer area of anus. Itchiness is subsiding.
Is this yeast ? Or what do u think ?

There are many possible causes of anal itchiness and sore. It can be caused by foods we eat, such as are found in spices, hot sauces, and peppers.
However, more commonly it is caused by infectious agents such as pinworms,yeast or bacterial infections. Other causes are some dermatologic conditions such as psoriasis. Yeast infections can develop especially if you used antibiotics recently. The smartest thing to do would be to avoid food i ve mentioned, eat high fibre food to soften your stool and apply some of the combined antifungal/mild steroid creams which can be found in pharmacy. Also, have sitz baths in chammomile. this will reduce pain and inflammation. if difficulties persist for more than 3-4 days then you should visit proctologist for further evaluation.
